Description

I may not get around to these as often as I'd like, but rest assured that this series is never going to end. Lucky for me I'm cranking these out so slowly that I'm most likely going to get into Gen II by the time Gen VII is released. Still sticking with the DaVinci style and I'm really liking the way it looks.

Pokemon No. 95 - Onix :icononixplz:

The Onix is a species of massive serpent native to the desert, or sometimes even the mountainous regions of Kanto. Sometimes growing to over sixty feet in length, the Onix has been placed on the Top Ten list of the world's largest reptiles. An Onix is known to make its home in deep and winding caves in the mountains or underneath sandy surfaces where it can feet on abundant species such as Golbat or Sandslash. An Onix's teeth are so strong that they have been known to break through solid stone while catching its prey. The large horn on its forehead acts as a tool that the Onix uses to carve into the earth. Many hunters throughout history would spend days or even weeks tracking an Onix for its horn, which can be sold at a high price among many communities, and for its rock-like skin which is commonly used as a strong armor. The boulder-like appearance of the Onix's skin was most likely evolved millennia ago as a form of camouflage to avoid predators. However, a fully-grown Onix has no predators nowadays, as the species has ascended into an apex tier. Its skin actually serves as camouflage against prey today. Disguising itself as a pile of rocks in a cave or in the sand will trick animals into thinking that they have found shelter before it strikes.

Pokemon No. 96 - Drowzee :icondrowzeeplz: and No. 97 - Hypno :iconhypnoplz:

The wild Hypno is a close genetic relative to the Kadabra, holding similar, yet much weaker psychic powers. The Hypno is a carnivorous predator, yet lacks the ability to move quickly on its feet. Using a combination of psychic abilities, it can actually lull its prey into a sleep-like trance by locking eyes with. The Hypno will then move its body in various ways until its prey starts to mimic it- this lets the Hypno know that it has successfully 'hypnotized' its prey before killing it. If you should ever encounter a Hypno in the wild, it is highly recommended that you do not make eye contact with the creature. The Hypno, like the Kadabra, has a higher level of intelligence than other animals, and will use rudimentary tools to kill its prey like sharp rocks or broken sticks.

An infant Hypno, or Drowzee, has much less hair than its adult counterpart. They have very low-levels of psychic powers and do not pose any threat to human beings. In fact, a Drowzee is usually very curious and will rarely perceive humans as threats. They may even play with humans if given the opportunity. However, if a Drowzee is upset by another creature in any way, it will begin crying and signaling the adult members of its pack to come to its aid. Groups of Hypnos will start to appear and attack the offending person or animal.

Pokemon No. 98 - Krabby :iconkrabbyplz: and No. 99 - Kingler :iconkinglerplz:

The Kingler is a very interesting and intelligent species of crab-life that developed very close to the shores of Kanto. After hatching, a young Kingler, or Krabby, will begin to develop small jets in its forearms, connected to small openings in the palms of their claws, that serve as a secondary set of lungs. Being able to take in twice as much oxygen as most creatures means that it can grow up to twice the size of a normal crab and in half the time. In the 'mouths' on their claws, a thick mucus secretes that allows the Kingler to blow strong bubbles with their arms. These bubbles can shoot out of their claws very quickly and make for a very good defense mechanism (like a squid shooting ink to escape predators). When a Kingler walks along the surface of a beach, these bubbles will actually float in the air like soap bubble. One can tell if there is a family of Kingler nearby by looking for small greenish bubbles floating around, as young Krabbies have a fondness for blowing bubbles constantly. Unlike most crustaceans, the Kingler actually does develop a dominant claw over time. When a male Kingler uses its dominant claw excessively for hunting or to drag its body quickly underwater, it will begin to grow rapidly, sometimes even quadrupling in size. A male Kingler with a particularly large claw is seen as a desirable mate to females.

Also, hey I'm finally doing commissions if anyone's interested! I specialize in drawing people's OC's or creature concepts, but I also do caricatures and realistic portraits. Here's my information as well as some examples of what I can do:

COMMISSIONS ARE OPENHey guys!
So I'm a college student who's a little strapped for cash at the moment and I'm ready to start doing commissions. From now until the end of October, this is what I'll be offering.
Caricature Portraits: $12 uncolored, $16 colored (+$10 for every additional character)

These are just head shots, not full-body. Medium: Pencil and ink. These portraits can be of yourself, a friend or family member, a famous celebrity (living or dead) or fictional character, or your OC (human or not). Send pictures as reference.
Realistic Portraits: $25 (+$20 for every additional character)

Again, these are just head shots, not full-body. Medium: 3-6B graphite. Sa
Night Vale Characters I by TopHatTruffles COMMISSION: Graxlat by TopHatTruffles

So if you'd like an OC done or a redraw of a creature in my style or hey, maybe your own Pokémon team drawn just for you, check out my info and send me a note.

I'm open until the end of October but I may extend that due to lack of work.

Thank you guys!
